Snow, snow, everywhere snow and time for change!

Well we got more snow last night and it is supposed to contine through out the day. A lot of the people in town are getting excited for all the mountains to open so they can spend lots of time on the hills. More and more I see people carrying around skis and snowboards through the village. Me - I can wait a litle bit longer to get on the mountain :) I need a ski pass first - HA!! It will be interesting to see how the 'buzz' around town changes once the mounain opens on the 21st!

The Elections are over and we now have a new president who promises change!! I am glad that the commercials and ads are going to be done now!! The next big event will be the swearing in of our countries first Africian American President - something I am sure our kids will study in High School some day.

Can you believe that in just over a week I will be home for a visit!!! It seems like just yesterday I booked the ticket....and now I will be packing soon!! I am still trying to confirm a time with Jessie that will work to meet up but we should have something figured out. Maybe Saturday night because she has a scrapbooking event at her house on Sunday.

I should get to work....enjoy the pictures of the snow we had this morning.

Talk to you soon!!

Going Green!

Well - I thought I would send you a picture of my nice rental car I have for the week! Yup it is a nice Toyota Prius - perfect for driving up mountains....HA! When I dropped Ali off in Denver yesterday I left my car at the Hyundai Dealership to have some work done on it before the snow falls and since I am having a recall issue checked out; I get a free rental car.

I can't believe it is time to go back to work already! I didn't even feel like I had a weekend....oh well. It was nice having Ali in town and showing her around the Vail area. We went out to a few bars Friday night and kept is low key Saturday. Then Sunday we headed down to Snowmass Village to check out one of the jobs that Todd's work did.

Can you belive only a couple weeks until I am home again to see everyone!?! I can't wait! I hope that everyone is feeling better around the Molnau camp! At least you are getting ill before my visit so we will be able to spend quality time together!

See you all soon!

Cake

Check out this cake!! It is HOME-MADE and was delicious!! One of the employees who works for the family made this cake...from scratch! This doesn't look like any of the cakes out of a box that I make.

Anyways, I just had to share that photo with you. Enjoy your 'totdish' tonight :)

New 'do!

Hello Molnau family - I thought I would share a few pictures of my new hair cut and fresh color I received yesterday from Molly on my day off! After my hair cut I went to donate some items that have been sitting in our extra bedroom since we moved in!! Then I stopped and treated myself to Starbucks before heading to WalMart!

After WalMart I had just enough time to make a few pieces of toast and put away all my purchases before heading to Ski Conditioning at Joe's gym. I got a good work out however it kicked my butt!! I felt like I was going to pass out at least twice during the class...I think I will stick to personal trainging 2 or 3 times a day and skip the ski conditioning :)

We had a pretty low key weekend - Saturday night Joe played his saxaphone with the band however I missed out on the festivities because I went in and met a few girls at the bar then Joe picked me up. Sunday we watched the Vikings game and then headed to Breckenridge and checked out the brewery!!

I hope you enjoy the photos - I will try to get some better ones and put those up. I included a photo of Joe from when we went to the brewery! OH - I LOVE the pictures of the boys from target!

Hope all is well and I can't wait to see you in less than a month!!!

Getting Cold

Good Afternoon Molnau's!! How is everything going? I know we are keeping up and sharing pictures on Facebook however I still wanted to post some photos on the Blog.
Not a lot new to report out here. Work is slowing down a bit and they cut 2 hours week off my schedule...not bad. I hear it will pick up in about a month - right around Thanksgiving. We have our 'warehouse sale' starting this weekend so I may have to go check it out and see if there are any great deals. From what I hear it is nothing to write home about...but I may be able to find that diamond in the rough!

We actually had snow 2 night this past week :( I have attached a few pictures for you to enjoy. There wasn't much snow as you can see however, I still had to use my brush to remove the snow on Sunday and also this morning before coming into work.

Tonight I am going to drop off some pants to get hemmed and then head home for a few quiet hours. Joe is working the late shift today so I can catch up on the Hills before he gets home! Feel free to call if you want tonight. It was great catching up with you all last night while Jesse was off at the Firefighter meeting.

Talk to you soon!!

Amy

HI JOEY!!

Hi Joey - It's Auntie Amy in Colorado! I wanted to write and say hello and let you know what I have been up to!
I have to go to work 5 days a week so that I can get money and save it up for a visit home! At work I talk on the phone, help out co-workers, and sort through the mail! Sometimes I even see your Daddy's catalog in the mail!!
When I am not working I go to the gym and work out, watch fun TV shows like The Hills, and read books!

I hear you are learning A LOT of new words!! I have also been told that you sent me some pictures in the mail for me to hang up! I am SO excited to see the wonderful pictures you sent to me. How is school going? Do you like your teacher?

Well, I should get back to work but I wanted to write a special letter to you! I hope you enjoyed my pictures from today when I was at work! Did you like the drawing I made for you?!

I miss you and love you a lot!!

Piney Lake

Hello Molnau's - Today was the first Monday that both Joseph and I have had off together so we decided to do something a little fun...we cleaned/organized a bit this morning, and I worked out after lunch, THEN we went to Piney Lake!

I do have to say that our time at Piney Lake was the best part of the day! Joe even surprised me with a little picnic packed for us to enjoy at the lake! So we sat and enjoyed some sparking wine, cheese and crackers, and some strawberries!

It is back to work tomorrow for me...boo! I have a Dr appointment tomorrow morning; nothing serious just a consultation with a Dr. out here should I ever need to see one.

I have attached a few photos for you to enjoy from Piney Lake, but I will send some more tomorrow when I have a chance! Tomorrow I think I will see if the Twins are on and watch the game for sure!

Love you and miss you!

Still in my pajamas

So here I sit on the couch still in my pajamas! One might say that I was a bit hung over this morning. We have done nothing today but watch football and sit on the couch - I did take a nap around noon to get rid of my headache.

So last night we went down to Boulder and checked out Pearl Street. It is a walking mall with shops, bars, restaurants and LOTS of people watching! I enjoyed a few beers last night and then for whatever reason had 2 glasses of red wine at the last place we went to. I think that is where I went wrong and why I didn't feel the best this morning.

It looks like you had fun today at the Twins game! GO TWINS!! And the video of Ben walking is great! I thought he was going to fall, but he got his balance and went on into the kitchen.

I am going to work out tomorrow and then I think Joe and I will go for a walk or check out Piney Lake. Joseph has changed his schedule so we now have the same days off work. Maybe I will call you on my way to the gym so there aren't any boys around :)

Enjoy the photos from last night. Oh, any word on a possible visit??

I am going to shower now that it is almost 8:30 P.M.!

Love you and Miss you all!!

Fall Colors

Morning Molnau's! How is everyone doing this fine Saturday? I am doing well - I made it into work a little early this morning because I am going to be leaving early and heading down to Boulder, CO with Joe and Michael Payne to check out the town and hang out with the college kids :)

The fall colors out here in Vail are already close to reaching their peak - or at least that is what the weather man said this morning on the news. There are a lot more people staying out at the Racquet Club this weekend too - I guess this is like the "Duluth" of Colorado and people come here to see the change in colors.

Do you guys have big plans for the weekend? OH, you get to go watch the Twins tomorrow with Mom and Dad! PLEASE have a beer for me...and a pretzel :) I think Joe and I are going to go to a local establishment and watch the Vikings lose....I mean the game - HA!

Enjoy the photos of the beautiful fall colors; the last photo is from our last trip up the Gondola to the top of the mountain. Hopefully I will have some to post from our travels to Boulder!

Love you and Miss you all like crazy!

Almost the weekend!

Hello - how is everyone doing?!? I am doing good! Just sitting on the couch while Joe is on the phone with Sprint....and it is not going well :(

We went out last night to watch the Twins game with some other couples; most of them are also from MN! As you can see from the picture, there were some shots involved....not good! The other picture is of some of the people we were out with. It was a night that we left the cars parked in the ramp and took the bus home.

How was MRPA? I hear you met John Elder!! Isn't he fun!? How was the conference? Was there anything interesting to see there? Were the boys excited to see you when you got home?

Do you have big plans for the weekend? We are thinking of going to Aspen and 'explore' a bit and maybe go to a few bars and check out the town while it is quiet.

I hope that all is going well! Feel free to call me if you wanna chat at all.

Love you and Miss you!!

SUNset Cruise

Amy,

The wedding was nice, really nice actually...kinda like something you'd see on "Platinum Weddings" on the "WE" channel.

I went kayaking tonight with Christian and 2 other people who had signed up for one of my kayaking classes that I offer. It was really fun, and pretty and quiet and I really enjoyed trying a new activity. I could totally go for a laid back paddle like that again; I think I may sign up for one of the early morning classes next spring, that way I can grab a coffe and have some quiet sanity time and still have a majority of my day to spend being productive or hanging with my boys.

Joe's company picnic looked fun and you could just about snatch that little Lexi up and put her in your pocket...SO CUTE! Food, wine and a little broke back mountain...oh and Joe posing as a cowboy! Did he wear his Wranglers and shit kickers too?!?!!?

I hope you enjoyed your quiet time before Joe got home. I attached a couple photos from kayaking on Lake Waconia for you to view. They should remind you (obviously) a lot of a picture perfect MN night. That's me in the bottom picture, Christian snapped one of me so that I'd have it for my work portfolio and the blog!

Have a good night, sleep well and I'll talk to you tomorrow!!!

Love you,

Sarah

4 Eagle Ranch

Hi there!! Today was Joe's company picnic at 4 Eagle Ranch just outside of Wolcott, CO. It was very nice and reminded me of the place where CJ and Ali got married last fall.

There were activities for everyone at the picnic; horse shoe pits, hay rides, 3 legged race, and potato sack races - oh, food and drinks too :) I have attached a few photos taken from my phone cause my camera wasn't working...I think it may be dead :( Enjoy them, most of them are of the views on the ranch, but I have included one of Joseph as well as one of Lexi (Joe's bosses daughter).

How was the wedding yesterday? I called Grandma's and talked to Joey for a little bit! Ben was hungry and wanting more Applesause so I didn't get a chance to talk to him much.

I am enjoying a bit of quiet time at the apartment right now! I convinced Joseph to go on a motorcycle ride with one of his co-workers from the the hotel. When he gets back I am sure we will watch football and enjoy a frozen pizza.

Nothing planned for the rest of tonight or tomorrow really. I am sure I will make it in to the gym at some time tomorrow but not sure when exactly. OH, and I am going to see a guy about a job serving or helping at the bar somehow.

I am going to get some reading done before Joseph gets home but wanted to post some photos for you and say hi!

LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!

Afro-Men!

Amy and Joe~

Jesse and the boys were having a bit of fun during bath-time tonight, which in itself sounds kind of "dirty"; however, as you'll see it was innocent afro-bubble fun!

I also included a picture of Joey from 2006 in a similar bath pose...wierd to see how old he is getting and scary to realize how fast they grow up.

I hope your workout went well and that you had something yummy for dinner after all those calorie burning exercises.

Have a good night and we'll talk to you soon.

Love and Miss YOU!

Sarah and the Boys

An evening Hike

Hi there Molnaus!

The server at work is down today so I am a bit limited with what I can do for work. I thought I would take advantage of this situation and blog!

Last night Joe and I went for a nice walk/hike when we got home from work! We walked up by one of the waterfalls by our apartment. I attached a few pictures but I don't think they turned out the best - time for a new camera! As you can see we hiked up pretty far. Did you see Joe peeking through the trees in one of the pictures?! The leaves are starting to 'change' out here, but it isn't as nice as back home. I guess they really only change to a golden color, but at least there is some change!

How are all of the boys?!? I am sure you are busy, but hopefully getting some time to rest a bit. I am working out tonight after work but maybe I can call tomorrow while Joe is at hockey and we can chat? Let me know if it will work with your schedule. I really don't know much but I think it is more fun to talk on the phone sometimes ;)

I hope you are all having a great day and I will talk to you soon! The last picture I snapped myself on Saturday while I was at work...it was beautiful out and tried my best to get the ski hill in the background. I think I have a funny face in the photo...do you?

OKTOBERFEST

Oktoberfest is here in the Vail Village this weekend so I thought I would go walk around and check it out over my lunch break! I saw brats, kraut, lederhosen, beer steins, and even heard the 'beer toast' while I was out!

I do have to say it is a bit over piced, but that is just my opinion. I mean $5 for a 6 oz. or 8 oz. beer!! COME ON! It was nice to get out though and check out all of the events and vendors at the festival. I found my favorite lady....the one with the cupcakes!

When I took the picture of the brats the guy walking next to me asked "Did you really just take a picture of the brats?" and I said YUP, I'm gonna email to my sister in MN :)

Last night I didn't do much and it was perfect! I woke up 4 times during the night though...I think it had to do with sleeping in the apartment alone for the first time. Not sure what the plan is for sure tonight - I am supposed to call Polly when I am done with work. I am thinking it may be another low key night because Polly is trying to get over a cold.

How are you feeling? Well enough to do the 5K for Nickel Dickel Days? Maybe I will call tomorrow before I head into the gym and check in to see how everyone is feeling. I am going at 6:00 (7:00 your time) - or I can call after? Let me know.

I hope all is well! Tell the boys Hi for me! Yesterday at work I went through I read ALL the blogs from June until the most recent post. I laughed when I saw Jesse's post of him and Clay.

Love you and miss you!

Amy
